Year 2008 - Recap

Almost end of the year, is time to recap what happened this great year:

1. Malaysia's 12th General Election - Political Tsunami Strikes

It is the glorious day for the Opposition Parties (DAP, PKR & PAS) as they won 82 of 222 parliementary seats, therefore they denied the two-third majority of the ruling party Barisan National. For the time, the Opposition Parties have also taken 5 States of the country, the PAS captured Kedah and retained Kelantan; the PKR took Selangor which is the most developed state in Malaysia; the DAP thus rule Penang and Perak shared with PAS. Meanwhile the ruling party has suffered a great loss for the first time in history after the previous Elections in year 1969.

2. Sichuan Earthquake Disaster

The most shocking disaster in Sichuan, China as more than 300,000 people perished and injured
in the incident. It took a long week for the rescue team to do their duties as the survivors were still trapped around the collaped building.

3. 2008 Beijing Olympic

For the first time, The China Team has make a 1st place in Metal Tally as they performed a tremendous glory. As for the Malaysia Team, Lee Chong Wei as a badminton representive in finally made a history and ended the 12 year medal drought for grabbing the Silver Medal for the country. This lead Lee Chong Wei to be awarded a Datukship.

4. American Dream comes true

Like the Martin Luther Jr said about his 'dream', there will be the first Black to be the President of the USA, and the person will be Obama Biden. Obama has created the history and this mean there will me no longer a racial issue in United State of America since the Civil War relating Abraham Lincoln.

5. Mumbai Shock Terrorism

After 911 terrorist attack, the terrorists turn tide to Mumbai, India. At least 200 people has sacrificed their life including Singaporean and Malaysian as they were truely innocent death by the terrorists.
